Qld: Alleged drug kingpin gives evidence in court

BRISBANE, Feb 27 AAP - The alleged kingpin of one of Queensland's biggest ecstasy syndicates
has given evidence in a Brisbane court.

Todd Sean Filippa, 44, has pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court in Brisbane to one count
of trafficking in a dangerous drug.

However, the sentence is being contested because of arguments over the period of trafficking.

The prosecution alleges Filippa was the head of the syndicate and that he trafficked
in ecstasy for almost two years from January 2003.
